With this three-course certificate, educators learn effective strategies in teaching reading and spelling grounded in scientific theory and research. Educators will prepare to:
- Apply the essential components of vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension to lesson design, classroom instruction, and critical one-on-one interventions.
- Collaborate with colleagues in order to integrate literacy skills across all content areas beyond English/language arts.
- Effectively meet Common Core State Standards in literacy and teach literacy strategies applicable to non-fiction and informational text in reading and writing.
