How to Get Started

Unlike traditional colleges, you do not need to wait for months to start your educational program. After you are admitted into the college you may begin your degree program with the next cohort of students. If you have a question at any time, contact an Enrollment Specialist at 1-800-280-0307.

American College of Education Curriculum and Instruction grads applying for the Dual Degree Program should follow the Educational Leadership Dual Degree Application Instructions.

Requirements to begin your degree program at American College of Education:

1 Complete the online application and pay the application fee.

Submit your non-refundable application fee of $50. As a convenience, you may pay the application fee online through our secure server or you may call an Enrollment Specialist at 1-800-280-0307 and provide your credit card information.

2 Submit required documents.

Official transcript recording a bachelor's degree or highest degree conferred by a regionally accredited institution; official transcripts are sealed transcripts sent from the granting institution. Official transcripts can be sent to:

NOTE: Prior to being admitted to a graduate program that could lead to a new Illinois certification (Educational Leadership or Educational Technology), an applicant must document completion of the Illinois Test of Basic Skills.

If the original transcript is international and/or not in English, it must be evaluated through AACRAO International Education Services or any evaluation agency credentialed through NACES. All applicants to American College of Education graduate degree programs must have attained at least a 2.75 G.P.A. for their undergraduate degree or highest post-baccalaureate degree completed.

Documentation of professional teaching or school services certificate and completion of all state certification requirements are required. Documentation of certification can be mailed to the above address, emailed to the Office of Admissions or efaxed to the Office of Admissions at ace.admissions@ace.edu.

3 Submit your Enrollment and Payment Agreement: Each student must declare a payment method by signing the Enrollment & Payment Agreement prior to beginning a degree program. Students have the following payment options: payment in full, payment in installments, school partnership/payroll deduction agreement, or third-party loans.
