Teachers Striving for Leadership Roles Can Enhance Skills Through Online Master's Degree Program
Chicago, IL - American College of Education, which offers high quality, online master's degree in education programs, is offering special tuition grants for Teach for America corps members and alumni. All Teach for America teachers and alumni who apply to American College of Education are now eligible for a $500 reduction in the College's already affordably priced tuition rate. This unique benefit is one way the College recognizes the service Teach for America provides to the country's highest needs schools. The Teach for America tuition grant applies to all online masters in education degree programs offered at American College of Education.
Teach for America corps members make two-year commitments to teaching in low-income communities to work toward solving educational inequity. After they complete their two years of service, many Teach for America alumni serve in leadership roles inside and outside of education with a goal of improving educational outcomes and career opportunities for low-income students.
"Teach for America alumni work hard to establish themselves in leadership positions in education, and an online master's degree in education from American College of Education can help them get there faster," said Dr. Jeri Nowakowski, President of American College of Education. "In many ways," she observed, "the College's mission to significantly improve P-12 student performance by enhancing the teaching effectiveness and leadership skills of public school educators complements the mission of Teach for America, which is to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting our nation's most promising future leaders in the effort."
The $500 tuition grant for corps members and alumni of Teach for America is effective immediately. Enrollment for the two June start dates (7th and 26th) sessions are now open with an enrollment deadline the week before each start date. Students pursuing online master's degrees in education at American College of Education may choose from the following degrees: M.Ed. in Education Leadership, M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with ESL Specialization, M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with Bilingual Specialization, and the newly approved M.Ed. in Educational Technology. All courses are offered exclusively online.
