American College of Education Expands Online Degree Programs to Include Master of Education in Educational Technology

Teachers can now advance their technology skills with the Master of Education in Education Leadership online education degree

February 3, 2010 - As more school districts around the country use technology as a learning tool, the need grows for technology leaders who can help facilitate implementation. Now American College of Education is helping meet that need. The College, which is dedicated to providing the best possible educational opportunities for practicing and aspiring educators, has just added to its degree offerings an online Master's in Educational Technology. The degree is designed to help recipients gain a strong understanding of how to leverage new and current technologies to improve classroom learning, learn how to utilize the power of Web 2.0 tools, and discover ways technology can enhance classroom, building, and district impact. Educators who enroll in the degree program will take their classes entirely online, using technology to make their master’s degree experience as convenient as possible.

In Illinois, the Master of Education in Educational Technology degree leads to a Type 10 Special K-12 Certificate with a Technology Specialist Endorsement. American College of Education Master's in Educational Technology online program candidates work through five developmental stages during the 13 courses required to complete this degree. In addition to the new Master of Education in Educational Technology, students pursuing online master's degrees at American College of Education may choose from the following teaching degrees: M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with ESL Specialization, and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with Bilingual Specialization. All courses are offered exclusively online.
