This science education course is designed for teachers to improve in their abilities to teach high school level science courses while enhancing their understanding of the new standards of science education in the specialized areas of earth science and space science.

Earth and Space Sciences will always play a vital role in securing a strong foundation for our country’s long term environmental health, security and economic success. It’s critical that teachers develop their skills in the earth and space sciences. Progressing new curriculum for earth science teaching is now paramount with the evolution of environmental sciences in the last decade. The study of space science has reached a new frontier of knowledge that has formed a new corner stone in space science education.

The next generation of science teaching standards is coming soon. Science teaching is a complex art that requires a constant revision to continue to progress student’s science skills and bring education in the sciences back to the forefront of our nation’s schools. The teaching standards provide criteria for making judgments about this progress by defining what teachers of science at all grade levels should understand and be able to do.

The new standards for science teaching were developed and written in part by science teachers, engineers and scientists, and state policy makers. Currently, twenty-six states have agreed to help craft the new standards. Soon new assessments will be developed to drive teachers to take a better and more comprehensive approach to science teaching. Register today and prepare for the new science standards.
