How do I take my courses?
Students receive courseware via the American College of Education Learning System and are enrolled
in Professional Learning Groups of teachers in their school and districts. Courses are taken electronically.
The computer system requirements are:
- Broadband Internet Access:
- Supported: Ethernet, Cable, DSL, or public wireless hotspot
- Not supported: Dial up Network
- Operating System:
- Supported: Windows XP or Windows Vista
- Not Supported: Macintosh, Linux, Windows ME, Windows 98, Windows 95, DOS
- Processor: Any processor of 1.2 GHz or faster
- Memory: 512MB for XP or 1GB for Vista
- Disk: Minimum of 20 GB available free disk space
- Display Resolution: 1024x768 minimum, 1280 X 800 or larger recommended
- Must have administrator rights to install software
- CD/DVD Drive
The American College of Education Learning System allows for tremendous flexibility regarding when coursework is completed within each 5-week period. The Internet further enables students to continue to submit assignments and complete exams according to the timeline prescribed in the syllabus regardless of a student’s physical location.
Students are encouraged to consider the program calendar when scheduling other commitments.
What are the graduation requirements?
Students must successfully complete:
- 12 Courses with a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
