Kenneth Jandes, Ed.D.
Department Chair
Welcome to the Educational Leadership program at the American College of Education. You have chosen
to pursue a Master's Degree program that focuses on meeting the expressed needs of aspiring school
principals and district leaders. This professionally-focused degree centers around a tightly-integrated
and application-based curriculum that aligns with national standards and core competencies. A special
feature of the program is the incorporation of leading edge technology in its delivery, which recognizes
the importance of digital literacy for 21st century school leaders.
Today's global landscape presents educational leaders with many challenges. The needs of your students
are substantial and diverse. At the same time, our national educational narrative creates high expectations
for all students as they are pivotal to America's future. School leaders have the responsibility for building
sustainable communities that support learning for all students in a culture of continuous improvement. Successful
leaders systematically focus the school community on effective teaching and learning policies and practices.
In partnership with America's school districts, the American College of Education provides an innovative graduate
learning experience that includes curriculum developed by master professors in the field, the American College of
Education Learning System, opportunities for professional collaboration, an internship program that allows you to apply knowledge
and practice skills, and ongoing support from faculty and staff.
I look forward to meeting you, sharing learning experiences, and following your growth as you progress
through our program.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Jandes, Ed.D.
