Teachers may convert their National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) work into college credit with American College of Education:
- NBCT-0001 Independent Study. This course will be recorded on your American College of Education transcript as IS585a Independent Study: National Board Certification Candidacy. (Complete Score 4.5 quarter credit hours = 3 semester hours).
- NBCT-0002 Independent Study. This course will be recorded on your American College of Education transcript as IS585b Independent Study: National Board Certification Accomplishment. (Complete Score 9 quarter credit hours = 6 semester hours).
- NBCT-0003 Independent Study. This course will be recorded on your American College of Education transcript as IS585a Independent Study: National Board Recertification: Advanced Professional Growth (Complete Score 4.5 quarter credit hours = 3 semester hours).
Students seeking credit for their NBPTS coursework should take the following steps to receive course credit from American College of Education:
- Apply for admission to the College as a non-degree seeking student.
- Have the American Council on Education send a transcript of your NBPTS work to:
