Earning your master’s degree is a great achievement and good reason to celebrate. American College of Education acknowledges its graduates with two commencement exercises held each year. Our commencements are attended and officiated by key faculty personnel and are designed to recognize the accomplishments of our graduates in the presence of their family and friends.
It is important that you be aware of the criteria to graduate and have the information necessary to evaluate your own progress for program completion.
To attain “Graduate Status,” all students must:
Use the Degree Map
The Degree Map feature located under the My Academics menu in MyACE Student Portal will help you evaluate how many more courses you must complete before you have met the requirements for your degree.
To view and update your record for accuracy, log into the MyACE Student Portal. Under "personal information," you can update your address, phone number and email.
Two commencement ceremonies are held each year for all eligible graduates nationwide.
Students who intend to participate in a commencement ceremony must be in “Graduate Status” at least eight (8) weeks prior to the date of the scheduled commencement activity.
Students are required to complete the Commencement Participation Form (a link can be found on each Commencement event page) and order regalia online in order to attend. Venue and detailed information will be sent to all eligible students and posted on the Commencement event page as it becomes available. Information is subject to change, so please check back regularly.
We are proud to provide a place for you to learn about upcoming activities, read about and network with other alumni, and take advantage of the many teaching and learning resources available on the web. Visit the Alumni Association for more information.
You will receive a diploma cover at commencement, but your diploma will not be included. A diploma takes up to 12 weeks to process and deliver from the date on which the degree is granted. One free transcript is sent along with the diploma.
To ensure that you get your diploma, make sure your information is correct at MyACE Student Portal. Any costs associated with reprinting or re-mailing of a diploma caused by incorrect information will be charged to the student.
Submit the Transcript Request Form. Upon graduation, you will receive one complimentary copy of your transcript.
Addition information about commencement is sent to eligible candidates and graduates prior to graduation.
If you have any questions about your degree completion status or your grades, contact Student Services at 1-800-280-0307 or studentservices@ace.edu.
Diplomas will be ordered and printed for eligible students with the name listed on your current college record. For name changes, according to FERPA regulations, American College of Education will require a Name Change Request Form to be filled out and legal documentation, such as a copy of a marriage certificate or social security card, provided in order to update your records. Please note the rules below regarding name changes prior to making this request. You may request a Name Change Form from Student Services at academicservices@ace.edu.
Copies of legal documentation may be sent to the college as an email or fax to 1-877-470-5893. A diploma may be ordered with a new name in expectation of a name change. If this is done, the diploma will not be delivered until an official Request for Name Change is provided to the Registrar's Office with supporting documentation. Any cost associated with the re-printing of a diploma caused by this type of order will be charged to the student.
If you have any questions, please contact academicservices@ace.edu or call 1-800-280-0307.
There is a four-to-six week degree audit process after degree completion at which time, if all academic and financial obligations have been met, the student’s record will be changed to graduate status.
Students who have completed the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership or other programs requiring endorsements and/or certifications should fill out the Request for Vertification form.
