Research Interests
My primary research interest over the last 6 years has been the use of simulation based learning (SBL) to increase pre-serivce and in-service teacher understanding of the educational needs of diverse learners.
This study has focused on the SBL tool, simSchool. This study has been performed in a multiuniversity setting with over 20 universities within the United States and Puerto Rico over the past 7 years.
The results of these studies have been presented at various AACTE, SITE, MACTE, and other conferences by myself and other colleauges.
The latest set of data indicated that simSchool could be used to increase the understanding of bias in pre-service teachers.
