Dr. Freda Trujillo is excited to join ACE as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Teaching and Learning. Freda is currently an online instructor in the Education Departments at New Mexico State University and Western New Mexico University. She has previously taught online and face-to-face Education, Humanities, and Government courses at University of Phoenix and supervised student teachers at Grand Canyon University. She teaches a vast array of entry-level, undergraduate, and graduate courses. She received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from University of Phoenix in 2015 and completed her dissertation on the attrition and retention of non-traditional entry level college students. Freda has worked with prospective educators since 2009 supervising teaching practicums and serving as mentor in public schools. She has worked in public education as a special education teacher since 2005 and has been a Special Student Services Administrator for three years. She supervises the District mental health and autism departments overseeing 60 educators in the second largest school district in New Mexico. Freda has created and facilitated numerous professional development seminars for all staff within her school district and strives for justice and equity for all students.She is looking forward to working with the ACE team and increasing her own knowledge and scholarship in the field of education on a national level
