James Woodward, Ed.D.

With nearly 20 years of experience in education, Dr. Woodward has taught elementary, middle school, and high school, as well as at the university level. His public school teaching assignments include a broad range of topics including science, social studies, reading, health, physical education, and currently business education. Along with classroom teaching, he has also coached several sports including baseball, basketball, football, and track.
Throughout his career, Dr. Woodward has aimed to value each student regardless of background or current status. He believes all students can realize their potential when they have guidance and when they are both externally and intrinsically motivated. His doctoral research explores the relationship between academic performance and physical fitness.
Outside of teaching, Dr. Woodward is involved with his wife’s home based business and enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family. He and his wife have been married for 19 years and have four children. They also serve as foster parents with Faithbridge Foster Care. As a family, they enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, enjoying sports activities, and exercise. He also attends church in his community and enjoys serving in various ways.
