Dr. Jo Anne Hughes currently serves as principal of Cabell Elementary School in Dallas ISD, located in Dallas, Texas. Under her leadership, the school has developed an innovative model of personalized learning including competency-based education and individualized learning pathways. With increased emphasis on technology support, social emotional learning and project-based learning, the school is aiming to improve educational outcomes with a focus that is learner-centered and learner-directed.
Through her extensive career in education and work at a campus with 95% of students receiving free and reduced lunch, Dr. Hughes provides important insights about what is working in real-world classrooms.
