Karina Becerra-Murillo, Ed.D.

Dr. Karina Becerra-Murillo joined the ACE team as Adjunct Faculty in the Educational Leadership Department in 2021. Karina currently serves as the Director of Special Education for a district in Southern California. She holds a dual B.A. degree in Spanish Literature and Language from California State University San Bernardino, an M.A. degree in Educational Counseling from Azusa Pacific University, an M.A. degree in Educational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. Karina has spent the last 20 years working in K-12 Public Education serving in various roles such as Coordinator of Special Education, Principal, Vice Principal, School Counselor, and Teacher. Her career in public education started as an Instructional Aide in Special Education. Karina’s research interests include inclusive practices for students with disabilities, special education, equity, English Language learners, gifted education, and Universal Design for Learning. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, Aaron and Matthew. Karina is thrilled to join the ACE team as Faculty since she had such a wonderful experience at ACE as an Ed.D. student.
