Koyah Alston, Ph.D.

Dr. Alston, known to TV audiences as “Dr. Koyah”, is a Motivational Speaker, Amazon Best-Selling Author, TV Personality, Media Executive, and Professor with a passion for inspiring kindergarten-college students and adults to strive, survive, and thrive in school, sports, career, and life! As a seasoned higher education administrator, Dr. Koyah served as the Assistant Director of the Undergraduate Business Program at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and managed all the Graduate Dental Programs, as well as Graduate Admissions at UNC School of Dentistry. Currently, Dr. Alston directs the Black Male Initiative at Howard University School of Business and is a Coordinator in Student Services. Dr. Alston also has experience teaching English/Humanities at North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, and Wake Technical Community College. She further is on the Board of Directors of iMedia Foundation. Koyah has a B.A. Degree in English & Communication Studies from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a M.S. Degree in Adult Education. Dr. Koyah also has a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies with a concentration in Higher Education at North Carolina A&T State University.
