Kristen Hoyt, Ed.D.

Kristen is an adjunct faculty member for Teaching & Learning. She is currently a full-time assistant professor in the School of Education at Southern Nazarene University where she teaches all early childhood education courses, Reading Assessment & Diagnosis, Educational Psychology, STEM 1-Studies in Science, and STEM 2-Studies in Math, as well as mentoring student teachers and first year teachers. Kristen holds an Ed.D. and Ed.S. from Liberty University in Educational Leadership, two M.Ed.s from the University of Oklahoma, one in Education Administration, Curriculum & Supervision, and one in Instructional Leadership & Academic Curriculum (Reading Education). She also earned an M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction (Reading Education and ESL) from the University of Texas at Arlington. Lastly, she has a BA in Romance Languages, and a BS in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Cameron University. Her research interests include: English second language instruction, literacy, and early childhood education.
