Dr. Sharon Smith Braden is currently an adjunct professor for the American College of Education (ACE). She enjoys collaborating with students and colleagues during course through various platforms for the success of ACE students.
Sharon has served as a public-school educator for the past 28 years in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System. During her tenure in the district, Sharon taught for nine years and has served as an administrator within the district for almost 20 years.
As an educator, it has been her desire to equip teachers with effective strategies and resources necessary to provide quality instruction for every student, in every classroom every day.
Sharon received an Associate Arts degree from Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee. She continued her undergraduate studies in education at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Sharon earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Tennessee State University and subsequently received her Master’s degree in Elementary Education.
As Sharon continued her graduate studies, she received her Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision and her Doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction both at Tennessee State University.
Sharon’s doctoral research focused on Project-Based Learning. It has been her goal to ensure students’ educational experience allow them to make real-world application of knowledge acquired and extend learning to serve their community.
