Sherry Pomeroy, Ph.D.

Dr. Sherry Pomeroy holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Early Childhood Education from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, OH (Go Guins!). In 2017, she obtained a Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education from Northcentral University (then based in Scottsdale, AZ). Her disseration was on Preschool Teachers' Views on Quality Rating Improvement Systems. Her research interests include qualtiy rating improvement systems, preschool literacy and early childhood classroom environments.
Besides serving on the adjunct faculty for ACE, Dr. Pomeroy also serves as an adjunct faculty member for Indiana Wesleyan University. She is also the administrator of a large child care center in Northeast Ohio, with 150 children and 30 staff. She also teaches a PreK class called Bridge to Kindergarten, which is designed for children who were not quite ready to begin Kindergarten. She has spent time as a Kindergarten teacher in both public and private schools as well as a preschool literacy coach under an Early Reading First grant. In her spare time, she loves to read fiction and play with her very spoiled Pomeranian named Oreo.
