Tiffani Bateman, Ed.D., received her Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education with a specialization in social behavioral science and Master’s degree in Special Education (K-12) from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. She began her education career teaching alternative education in 1999 and has over a decade of experience teaching special education and serving as a special education coordinator for Grades K-12. Dr. Bateman received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a specialization in curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix and currently serves as a core faculty member at American College of Education. Dr. Bateman’s experiences include writing course content as a subject matter expert, assisting online education programs in transferring technologies to 2.0 platforms, piloting innovative self-contained coursework such as MOOCs and competency-based curriculum, evaluating program requirements for accreditation, and managing and developing numerous curriculum projects. Dr. Bateman’s research interests include academic social networking, 2.0 technologies, social presence, retention in online education, and emotional intelligence.
