Alice Martanegara, D.N.P.

In addition to serving at ACE as a member of our nursing faculty, Dr. Alice Martanegara also serves as the Associate Dean and Director of Nursing for Golden West College (GWC). In her role at GWC, Alice is responsible for the leadership and operations for the School of Nursing. Dr. Martanegara also serve as an RN Consultant for the Chief of Staff Office for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Prior to GWC, she was the State of California Director of Nursing for Western Governors University where she provided leadership and oversee the operations in CA. She also had served in various nursing leadership roles at Tenet Healthcare, Hoag Hospital, and Kaiser Permanente. Alice is clinically trained as a Women’s Health nurse specializing in gynecology. Her academic experience includes nursing administration and faculty roles in the undergraduate and graduate programs in California.

 Dr. Martanegara is an innovative nurse leader with a broad experience in the healthcare and the communication industry. She is a previous board member for the Association of California Nurse Leaders (ACNL). She is currently the Past-President of the Orange County Long Beach ACNL Chapter and on the executive board for Comcast Communications.  Alice serves on the advisory boards for HealthImpact, Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC), Healthcare Workforce Initiative – Orange County, Vanguard University, Qualcomm, and PeriGen.

 Alice earned a dual undergraduate degree in Psychology with a Brand Management concentration from the California State University, Dominguez Hills.  Nursing is a second career for Dr. Martanegara when she completed her Associate of Arts in Nursing from Golden West College. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN-ED) from the University of Phoenix and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from Touro University Nevada.  Alice is a fellow of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Washington D.C, and the UCLA Executive Education.

 

A Southern California native, Alice resides in Orange County and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, writing short stories, and watching movies.

Ed.D. in Nursing Education Doctor of Education

The Doctorate in Nursing Education is for master’s degree nurses who want to help address the growing need for more RNs in today’s ever-expanding healthcare system. The American College of Education Ed.D in Nursing Education program is a fully online curriculum to prepare nurses as educators in either an academic or professional development setting. The program uses a unique interdisciplinary approach to focus on the science of teaching and learning. Students will engage in scholarly research to support their dissertation while developing the competencies to create and evaluate curriculum, develop effective teaching strategies, use innovative technology to promote learning and much more as they prepare to educate the next generation of nurses.

Ed.S. in Nursing Education Educational Specialist

This program is perfect for nurses who want to advance their knowledge in nursing education beyond a master’s degree without completing a dissertation. It’s also stackable, if you decide after completing the Ed.S. program that you would like to continue and complete an Ed.D. program with a dissertation.
