Elaine Wilson, Ed.D.

Dr. Elaine Montgomery Wilson believes all children can learn if given the right tools and the dedicated professionals and that teaching children is the purpose and mission of her life. Therefore, she decided to become the vessel of change. She has continued to develop her understanding of educational strategies by continuing her education throughout her career.

In 2005, Dr. Wilson was accepted as a graduate student in the University of Cincinnati Urban Educational Leadership doctoral program. Additionally, she has served in an urban elementary school for 27 years. She was a third grade teacher for 11 years and presently serves as the principal at the Phoenix Community Learning Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

As she reflects on her position as principal for the last 17 years, Dr. Wilson is humbled to serve the children who will guide us into tomorrow. She believes urban educational leaders must possess integrity and a sense of ethics, inspire trust, and be able to build relationships with actions that value those that one leads. In fall 2010, she was honored to present a presentation for Dr. Thomas Sergiovanni entitled “Heart, Head, Hands, and Moral Authority” at the Council of Professors of Instructional Supervision.
