Dr. John Torpey is an adjunct instructor at ACE and at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio where he teaches classes in the Energy Management, Business Management, and Accounting programs. John holds a B.E. in Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union, an MBA from St. John’s University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Franklin University. John is a Certified Management Accountant and a Professional Engineer. John has extensive experience in the utility industry where he prepared economic energy plans for customers while lowering carbon emissions, served on a Sustainability Council which was responsible for producing an annual Corporate Accountability Report, and facilitated resource planning stakeholder meetings. John held leadership positions in corporate planning and budgeting and testified as an expert witness in regulatory proceedings concerning the economic benefits of renewable energy projects.
