Katrina Landa, Ed.D., received a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's degree in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), both from the University of Miami in Florida. She earned her Doctorate in Special Education (with a minor in Educational Leadership) from Florida International University. She started her career as an early childhood special education teacher, working first with children with autism and later in a co-teaching classroom for 3- to 5-year-olds both typically developing and with varying exceptionalities. From there she worked with middle schoolers with special needs, teaching social studies. She has worked with students of all ages learning English as a second language (ESL), most recently as an ESL college preparation instructor, and early college coordinator in Jacksonville, FL. Currently, Dr. Landa serves as a Professor and Program Coordinator for the Department of Teaching and Learning at American College of Education (ACE). She is also a faculty advisor for the ACE Writing Center. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters and their lab mix dog, Kalie. During normal (pre-COVID) times, she enjoyed travel, and she really hopes to get back to exploring again soon!
