Renée Harmon, PhD, (she/her/hers) is a Core Faculty member in the Department of Business Professions. Dr. Harmon completed her PhD in Education and Human Resource Studies at Colorado State University. Her dissertation titled, Assessing College Students’ Sustainability Literacy: The Development, Use, and Analysis of an Assessment Tool (2019) describes the development and analysis of the CSU Sustainability Literacy Assessment, of which the results are reported to the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education's (AASHE) Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS). Dr. Harmon also holds a M.A. in Communication from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and B.A. in Journalism from Western Illinois University. Additionally, Renee teaches at Colorado State University in the School of Global Environmental Sustainability. Her research addresses sustainability education and literacy, case-based instruction, higher education leadership, and community education. Outside of academia, Renee enjoys being active outdoors, exploring the West with her golden retriever, Maggie Moo. One of her favorite activities is hiking the Grand Canyon.
