Sandra Johnson, Ph.D.
Instructional Faculty,
Department of Professional Educational Studies
Hello! I am Sandra Johnson, Ph.D. I am currently lead instructional faculty for ACE. I live in Southwest New Mexico. I married my high school sweetheart and we have been together for 46 wonderful years. Our oldest daughter is a vice principal for an online middle school and our youngest daughter is a research scientist for Thermo Scientific. We have one son-in-law that we adore and two grandchildren that are perfect in every way. 😊
I began my teaching career as the director of a private Christian preschool where I taught 3 through 5-year-old children. What a fun age to work with! I then moved to public education where I taught middle school science and technology and high school where I taught English, Geometry, Algebra, and Technology.
I have been teaching at the college level for the past 18 years. I hold a BS in Secondary Education (Science), MA in Educational Leadership, MS in Educational Technology, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Learning Technologies. My research interests are anything education including teaching and learning online, educational technology, designing and developing curriculum, professional development, administration, and policy.
In my spare time, my husband and I travel and spend as much time as possible with our children and grandchildren. Our favorite thing to do is jump in the car and take off on an unplanned adventure to see God’s glory in nature. We love spending time with each other, exploring, listening to audiobooks, or sitting around a campfire. I have had a wonderful life where I am truly blessed and highly favored!
