Dr. Gail Claybrooks possesses 19 years of experience in postsecondary education as an administrator and nine years as an instructor. She has facilitated instruction in the following programs: Education, Graduate Business & Management, Forensic Psychology, Industrial/ Organizational Psychology, Human Services, Public Health, Criminal Justice, Counseling Education Supervision, and Mental Health Counseling programs. She has had numerous postsecondary administrative committee assignments including membership on a national Institutional Review Board and as the chair of a campus Institutional Review Board. Gail has supervised Doctoral Dissertation Research and specializes in Research Methodology, which she has taught at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels of study. She has published scholarly work in a peer-reviewed journal. She was recognized in 2016 by Argosy University as Teacher of the Year and awarded the Rev. Dr. Peggy Way Excellence in Teaching Award for commitment, dedication, and innovations in teaching. She is revered as a humble, respected, and distinguished educator who applies her professional knowledge, skills, and abilities to holistically enhance the lives of her students.
Gail has a Doctor of Education degree from Argosy University in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education, a Master of Science degree from Cumberland University in Management with an emphasis in Public Service, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Lipscomb University in Psychology with a minor in Biology. Prior to her career in education, Gail had an extensive background in investigations and in public health. She has worked at the federal and local levels of government in the field of investigations. Her experiences have taken her from our nation’s capitol to homeless shelters, prisons, and jails. She has vast experience in investigations, communication, training, comprehensive planning, program evaluation, continuous quality improvement, surveillance, epidemiology, mediation, and data management. Dr. Claybrooks has her own business as an educational consultant. She is an experienced coach and trainer who has facilitated sessions in organizational leadership and change management.
Gail is a firm believer in meeting people where they are and paying forward the blessings she has received. Dr. Claybrooks has served on various academic boards and volunteer committees. She was recognized by the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, Omega Lambda Lambda chapter for her unselfish contributions. Her life story was featured in their 2014 book edition entitled, Virtuous Women and Their Journey in Faith. Her mate of 27 years is Kerry Anthony Claybrooks. The couple have two daughters, Alyssa Danielle Claybrooks and Kara Jonell Claybrooks, and one dog, Coco.
